Wednesday, November 27th, Nautical Wheelers will present the Wines of Bobby Wallace. Bobby is the winemaker at his family's wine farm in Elgin, South Africa. He works alongside his father, Paul Wallace, a viticulturist. Paul manages and tends the wine farm and has helped many of the wine farms in Elgin plan and tend the vineyards. Mother Nicky is the business manager and keeps everything running as it should on the farm, including the winery and she assists with distribution.
This week Nautical Wheelers Wine Wednesday line up features Bobby’s Off the Record Wines, a Chenin Blanc and Shiraz, and the Paul Wallace Wines: Little Flirt Sauvignon Blanc, Brave Heart Polywood Pinot Noir and the Black Dog Malbec (there are 2 Black Labs on the farm).
The name Bobby Wallace may sound familiar because he visited Nautical Wheelers in August for the August Wine Tasting, as well as the South African Wine and Braai that was held at the Oriental Women’s Club. He loved being here and is making plans to return. He even sent a video invitation to the Wine Wednesday (see it on our Facebook page!). Camilla and I (Bill) visited the Wallace farm in September, enjoying the scenic winery and seeing "The Black Dog"'s namesake.
