Festivities abound this time of year in Eastern North Carolina. While Oriental will be celebrating the Spirit of Christmas the second weekend in December, New Bern will be "Beary" Merry and celebrate with the annual tradition of Live Window Displays!    Experience Christmas magic as you stroll through Downtown New Bern and view all the window displays businesses put on to celebrate the season! There are promises of fun with lots of shopping, dining, Santa, snow and a whole lot of Beary Merry magic!

There is always something fun and exciting happening, especially during the holiday season. Come on down to Oriental and celebrate The Spirit of Christmas, Thursday December, 12th through Saturday, December 14th. There’s plenty of exciting activities including a live Nativity, a flotilla, many choirs performing, the lighting of the Star at Town Dock #1, the lighting of the Tree of Names and Lights at Lou Mac Park, and even a town-wide decorating contest! Saturday there will be a parade through the town to spread Christmas spirit as well.  Spirit of Christmas is a magical time to visit Oriental as decorations are plentiful and joy is in the air as businesses (including us at Nautical Wheelers) host open houses to thank the community....

It's the scariest time of year for some but here in New Bern, we make it "Not So Scary"! It's time again for Beary Merry's Beary Not So Scary Halloween, a weekend (Friday October 25th and Saturday October 26th) filled with fun and spooky festivities for the whole family!  Friday there will be a preschool party and parade downtown for the little ones to show off their costumes and have a spooky good time.  Saturday the 26th there will be Trick or Treating in the streets, a Witches' Ride, and a movie in the park!  Visit Beary Merry Event's for even more information and times.
