As the summer heat continues to go up, we were excited to have the opportunity to host another wine tasting. This past weekend, July 16th and 17th, we were honored to have Chris Izzo from Johnson Brothers Mutual Wine Distributors come to both of our stores. We had tons of familiar faces join our tasting and a few new ones that we were happy to introduce to our Nautical Wheelers community. Chris was able to bring six different wines for us to try. - Ziata Sauvignon Blanc from Napa Valley, CA
- McBride Sisters Chardonnay from California
- San Polo Rubio Toscana from Tuscany, Italy
- Bodegas Muriel Reserva from Rioja, Spain
- Girard Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 from Napa Valley, CA
On Friday the 16th, Chris was with our New Bern store and all of our customers. After the wine tasting, the consensus was that the McBride Sisters Chardonnay and the Bodegas Muriel Reserva were the two favorites for the day.
The next day Chris came to Oriental. We had a bit of a summer storm but thankfully it passed and brought the temperature down with it for a nice afternoon of sipping. After our tasting, it was decided that the Avissi Sparkling Rose and the Bodegas Muriel Reserva were the two favorites for the town of Oriental. Many people said that they loved the McBride Chardonnay which shocked a lot of people because many said they did not like chardonnay.
