Special Wine Tasting Event / Meet the Wine Maker

Next weekend, November 4th and 5th, you are invited to a very special wine tasting event.  This is a "bonus" wine tasting for us and one that you are not going to want to miss as we welcome back our beloved friend Andy Woolgar of Elephants Corner Wines and very special guest, all the way from South Africa, wine maker Wynand Grobler of De Kleine Wijn Koop.  If you are a Nautical Wheelers "regular" you may have had the pleasure of tasting South African wines with Andy over the past few years.  Andy has introduced us to many of Wynand's wonderful wines like Kreatuur, Klipkers and Ou Treffer (just to name a few), and next weekend, you will be delighted to taste new vintages of some of your favorites.  If you have not yet had the opportunity to experience South African wines, this is the perfect occasion to join us for this monumental event!  Wynand Grobler is what you might call a "rock star" wine maker whose Wyn Tjie Chenin Blanc canned wine has been touted South Africa's favorite canned wine. Wynand takes great pride in being personally involved in the winemaking process, managing his family-owned business along with his wife Anya, from a small cellar in Paarl, South Africa, and is traveling from over 8500 miles away to thank those of you have supported South African wines since their introduction to us by Andy and to share his love and passion of wine making with all of you.  Save the date and join us on Friday November 4th from 5-7pm in New Bern. We are changing things up a bit for the Oriental tasting and offering one event on Saturday, November 5th from 2-4pm to give everyone a chance to meet and mingle with Wynand.  Hope to see you there!
