September Wine Tasting

Hello Wine-o's!

A new month means a new wine tasting and this month we have a special event taking place for our Oriental Tasting. This month is a little different as New Bern will host a floating Sip N Shop on September 27th from 4pm-6pm, and Oriental will have a semi-traditional tasting, classroom style on September 28th at 2pm and again at 3pm.

We say this tasting is "semi"-traditional as local Oriental resident, and Nautical Wheelers customer, Doug Sligh will be hosting and comparing 3 varietals of wines (2 of each from different regions) and discussing the impact that terroir can make on a wine - even when it's the same grape variety!

Our comparison bracket is as follows:

Chardonnay: Sonoma, CA vs. France

Merlot: Washington State vs. France

Cabernet: Sonoma, CA vs. Chile

We understand the disappointment that may arise in only Oriental having a formal tasting this month. However, this comparison style tasting is only effective in a classroom style tasting, which is only an option in our Oriental store due to space limitations.

We can assure you that this event will absolutely be worth the trip out to Oriental though! Doug has a real passion for wine and the wines we have selected alongside Doug are sure to be a great incentive, along with the knowledge you will gain.

Cheers!
