Bishop’s Peak wines, handcrafted by Talley Vineyards to capture the varietal and regional diversity of San Luis Obispo County. Bishop’s Peak, an iconic local landmark, symbolizes the brand, showcasing wines produced in small lots from vineyard sites in the Arroyo Grande Valley, Edna Valley, & Paso Robles Viticultural Areas as well as the Nipomo area south of Arroyo Grande. Some sites are owned by the Talley family, others are owned by growers who share the family’s commitment to quality. The wines balance production & quality to deliver exceptional value, while maintaining the same attention to detail that is the hallmark of Talley Vineyards.

Bishop’s Peak, CHARDONNAY, San Luis Obispo, CALIFORNIA 2018             $18.95

100% Chardonnay- This chardonnay offers aromas of white peach, bright lemon, pineapple, and orange blossom.  The split time between neutral French Oak barrels and stainless-steel tanks yields a good balance and its mineral acid content are in harmony.  The 2018 Bishop’s Peak Chardonnay received Critical Acclaim of 90 points from Wilfred Wong of wine.com and stars as one of California’s top value Chards.  This wine dials up plenty of tart apple and zesty citrus aromas and flavors with mouthwatering salinity.  Pair with a seafood salad, lightly dressed, light appetizers or a light entrée like pasta primavera.

Bishop’s Peak, PINOT NOIR, San Luis Obispo, CALIFORNIA 2017       $24.95

100% Pinot Noir- Produced entirely from grapes grown in San Luis Obispo Count, combining both purchased and estate grown fruit, this wine is bottled before the next harvest to preserve the charm and fresh fruit flavors that distinguish this varietal.  Plenty of fresh red fruit, pungent flowers and spice complemented by a touch of light oak. Crisp acidity and medium tannin lead to a lingering finish. Juicy, focused and light on its feet, offering zesty red currant and bitter cherry flavors that turn sweeter with air.  Pair with salmon, tuna or lobster.  The 2017 vintage received Critical Acclaim of 92 points from Vinous.  There is outstanding value with this Pinot Noir with a drinking window now until 2027.

Bishop’s Peak, CABERNET SAUVIGNON, Paso Robles, CA 2017        $24.95

85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Petit Verdot, 4% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc & 3% Malbec

Produced from grapes grown in the Santa Margarita Vineyard in the cool southwestern corner of the Paso Robles viticultural area, this wine combines the balanced Tally Vineyard’s house style with the soft approachability typical of the Paso Robles region.  This vintage received 89, well deserved points, from Wilford Wong of wine.com as it delivers plenty of flavor for the $$$.  The aromas and flavors of red currents, plums, and a touch of bay leaf, with good balance structure and a smooth finish impress from the first sip to the last.  Pair with grilled hamburgers with aged cheddar.
